TRAINING AS PART OF L'EQUIPE KELSALL!

I've just returned from a long weekend in France, organised by Susie for cycle training.

The weather was great on Saturday and nine of us set off with our Anthony Nolan numbers on our backs on a lovely route of approx 70 km.  Francis and the non-cycling members of "L'equipe Kelsall" met us half-way with much needed snacks and drinks.
All the scenery was stunning and Susie and Marie Claire had planned a route with lots of places of interest to view along the way.
Unfortunately, the weather was unkind to us on Sunday and it rained all day but we still managed a very soggy walk and then four of us took a last-minute run at 6pm, getting home just before dark.
On Monday the day was more leisurely with a guided visit round a church at Mesterrieux, followed by a wine tasting at Chateau Bellerm:- http://www.chateaubellerm.fr/- what a grand way to finish the "Tour"!

FINAL TRAINING PUSH

Well, it's only 4 weeks to go; the last few weeks have flown by!
I'm off to France tomorrow for the training weekend that Francis and Susie have organised.  Looks like a nice programe with 2 decent rides of about 60km or so and then a smaller one on Monday before my flight home which incorporates a wine tasting - now that's the way to do it!
Then, for the first weekend in November I'm off to do 2 days of Rides with Evans Cycles again; in Nottingham this time.  Saturday is 30 miles off-road and Sunday is 60 miles on the road.  I'm hoping to meet up with an old OU friend, Therese, on the Saturday night and then go round part of the course will 3 fellow Cubarites; Gill, Mike and Kevin on the Sunday.
The gym has been going well even though I pulled a leg muscle in the first spinning class!

MAKING THE MOST OF THE WEATHER

Training again; Saturday not especially good as I found the hill to Brickhill a bit tough and so gave up and took another route.  I had given blood the night before which might explain it. 16 miles in total
Then off to the gymn to meet an instructor, Adam, and have a programme written to help with stamina, hills, etc.etc.  Signed up for a spin class on Monday - I'll let you know!
Sunday was different all together; a brilliant day so I decided to try route 51 and go as far as possible in 2 hours and then turn round.  I made it to Steeple Claydon and a very lovely run it was too! And 42 miles which I was well pleased with
