I just totted up my two web pages:_
http://www.justgiving.com/Sarah-ReidstormsCuba/
http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/teamdrieaz (Paul and I are sharing this 50/50)
And together they total £2807!!!!
A HUGE BIG THANKS to everyone who has helped me get there.
However, £2,800 is the target set me by the Anthony Nolan Trust; I'd still like to raise more so, watch out, if you've not sponsored me yet, I'll be after you!!
I started training more seriously last week too, I cycled to work 1 1/2 times (complicated!) and then a run of approx. 30 miles on Saturday. I took part of the Cycle Network route 51 from Milton Keynes to Winslow and back and very pretty it was too!

POST CEILIDH NEWS
Well, after a lot of work/stress etc. the Ceilidh took place on Saturday and was a success. The Cock and Bull Band with their caller, Sarah, were great and got everyone moving and shaking!!
We raised £408 more or less and I couldn't have done it without:-
All my great helpers (in alphabetical order)-

All my great helpers (in alphabetical order)-
- Ann who is a force of nature and made sure everyone spent as much as possible on raffle tickets!
- Carol and Steve who babysat the dog and loaned bits and bobs to help out
- Chris who gave lots of advice beforehand but sadly couldn't come due to ill health
- Fay for all her advice and help and giving me the idea in the first place
- Gerry, my sister, who came all the way from Basingstoke to help set up and cook on the BBQ
- Penny (and Wayne who collected the onions I'd left at home!) who ran the bar despite feeling poorly and having very little voice
- Rosie for co-cooking the BBQ with Gerry and giving lots of useful advice beforehand
- Kafila Cuisine for their superb (so I'm told as I didn't get to them at the speed of sound which would have been the only way) starters and raffle prizes
- Lesley of Blessed with Beauty for her raffle prize (which she nearly won, but that's another story!) and for bringing lots of high alcohol consuming friends, so ensuring the bar made a profit!
- Dri-Eaz Products (my patient employers) for a generous raffle prize
- Cath and Dave Atkinson for raffle prize
- Elaine at Green and Brown for a great raffle prize
- Ditto, the Wavendon Golf Centre/Grange Hotels/The Really Useful Company/Frost Garden Centre

THE CEILIDH IS LOOMING
Ticket sales are not what I was hoping for, but there is nowhere else left to promote/advertise it; I am worn to a frazzle thinking about it!!
Penny has just sold 8 and I have a few more possibles waiting in the wings so hope I am going to reach 60 but obviously I want 100!!
Kafila Cuisine are supplying some yummy starters and a couple of raffle prizes - so many thanks to them! If I forget to mention anyone who has helped/sponsored this on the night please forgive me and I'll be posting a list up here afterwards.
So, food, booze, glassses etc. all in hand - all I need are more people!!!

HARD SLOG
Work has been fine since I got back from hols, but the fund raising is hard work.
To promote my Ceilidh I had the (not very bright as it turns out) idea of dropping flyers to all the local schools to put up on their staff noticeboards. So I set off today (Sunday) , with Dora in the car for car practice even though I doubt she needs it as she's just been to the south of France and back in a car, so I was amazed she even got in at all!
I couldn't even get to the front door of any schools I visited as they're all behind locked barriers with not a letterbox in sight. What a sad society we live in that it's come to that!
Hamper donations (for a raffle prize at the Ceilidh) are slow too; most supermarkets (bar two) want the request in a letter which does seem out of proportion when all I'm really after is a packet or two of biscuits. I might end up giving up and buying the rest of it myself at this rate!! And I thought asking them for something small might be easier than asking for a larger donation!!
